Impact Hub Kathmandu
Impact Hub Kathmandu (IH KTM) is a female-led Nepalese not-for-profit organisation started after the 2015 Nepal earthquakes under the premise that a disaster can be a catalyst for innovation. It has evolved into an accessible, safe and inclusive innovation-led community Hub. The Hub is designed to give innovators, entrepreneurs, activists, artists and change-makers a creative space to meet, work, network and learn, while harnessing new ideas to help address social and environmental challenges. An amiable open space that welcomes people from all across Kathmandu, and beyond! We are part of a global network of 100+ Impact Hubs in over 60 countries, working across disciplines, acting across sectors, with amazing people putting ideas into action.
The Hub houses a furnished business incubator, a digital fabrication lab – FabLab Nepal, co-working space, in-house cafe, training lab, and parking which is accessible for people with disabilities. The Hub offers business support and prototyping services, capacity development sessions on leadership, income generation and technical consulting services to help innovators, changemakers and entrepreneurs realise their ideas and solutions.

That’s why we set out to create a thriving innovation ecosystem where people collaborate across organizations, cultures and generations to solve the grand challenges of our time #SDG.
Mission
Together let’s build the future we want to live in! #TransitionTeam
Solution
Impact Hub Kathmandu is a catalyst to foster social innovation. We are a global community, consultancy and a creative space. We work at the intersection of innovation and society to collaboratively create impact with an entrepreneurial mindset.
Our Approach
Inspire
challenging the status quo is possible – we do it every day.
Experimental
Design thinking gives the participant permission to fail and to learn from their mistakes, because it encourages an iterative development process.
Optimistic
Design thinking, like many startup methodologies, is underpinned by the fundamental belief that we can all create change—no matter how big a problem, how little time, or how small a budget.
Connect
accessing a professional ecosystem of change makers and curating interaction across silos.
Collaborative
Several great minds are always stronger when solving a challenge than just one. Design thinking benefits greatly from an interdisciplinary team.
User-Centered
Design thinking is centred on innovating through the eyes of the end user by building empathy and gaining deep insights.
Enable
we disrupt mindsets, share expertise and the necessary tools to create a better future for all.
De-Risking
Using an iterative approach de-risks products by testing both their relevance and long-term feasibility prior to committing substantial investment.
Well-Structured
Design thinking comes with a lot of useful tools. It draws inspiration from the creative processes that are divided into different phases, sprints and tools.
